I will have to admit-the title was the attention-grabber for me to get my hands on it (what cat owner in the 21st century can't relate to having Fluffy or Mittens get right up on us when we are pored intently over a computer screen...But I digress a little) What this book is, is a collection of short tales (or "tails" I should say) of different novelists' experiences in the acquisition of their cat or cats and how they could not imagine life without them...I went into it with an open mind thinking this was going to be cat lovers and other cat lovers blissfully uniting...Actually, it's a collection of excerpts from the novelists' publications interspersed within the cat stories. I'm not necessarily a fan of all that "romance novel" stuff...but that is on me and my own personal taste not with the authors themselves. Have to admit I liked Cindy's story the best...as I can relate to her story of a death in the family on the 25th of October (that happened to me too). I guess having an eye for romance, intrigue, and character development kind of goes with the territory of appreciating felines. Novelist Cindy's cat Cisco looks a lot like one of my two cats too by the way! One novelist talked about a geographical move with 5 cats in tow--I understand how challenging that can be as cats tend to hate car trips. Four stars overall for the endearing cat stories...It is true that once you acquire a "special" cat they really do add something to your life...whether it's their playful antics, territory disputes or just the very background story of how the cat was acquired...there is no shortage of great cat tales out there!Product details

I had zero problems with this book. It was exactly what it claimed to be, despite some reviewer's protests to the contrary. There were some mediocre cat stories, but some excellent ones, too. The excerpts were more consistent in their quality, with few falling to the level of true mediocrity, but still with some excellence among them.
A nice thing to read when you've got some time to kill, but not quite enough to invest in a full story.

Cute little stories, made me smile while I was reading them.
I got this book for free. I read it because I'm a cat lover and love everything about cats. It is a collection of cat stories written by authors and after each story there is information about the author and a promotional excerpt from one of their books. This book is obviously marketing material, but it was free and I enjoyed the cat stories. I skipped most of the promotional material.

Fun read of short stores, I will most likely get one of the books to read. I enjoy a good cat story sine I have five of my own.
The cat stories were good, if a little short. But this book is basically just an advertisement for the authors, with excerpts from each of their books. Which is somewhat disappointing.
